Devoted to branding and building and protecting brands

I doubt that MySpace is circling the drain, exactly, but the brain-drain there seems to be real.  This is not so good for the company, of course, but it’s re-assuring evidence that the Silicon Valley dynamic is alive and well.  And THAT is good for everyone.  See, the creative destruction that’s been the real engine of so much productivity, wealth and prosperity during past the four decades had (and has) nothing to do with the Fed, the White House, Wall Street, the SEC, the IRS or anything else except this: smart people coming up with ideas that become new companies making and selling products we just gotta have.  If these companies succeed, then they hire more people who have more new ideas, and the cycle continues.  The result: the creation of new jobs, new brands and new wealth, all of which will emerge in time.  This is how we get out of the ditch we're in.
