Twitter, the free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), caught the back of my hand the other day (January 19, 2009). I used it as an example of the Web 2.0 stuff unlikely to spawn the Next Truly Big Things. I’m not alone ( Andy Grove On Web 2.0 And The Valley: Slackers ). Neither had I considered all the possibilities (The Recession Can't Break Twitter -). Ignoramous me. Hey, I’m all for anything that can create wealth beyond the founding team. But I gotta side with Andy “We didn’t have an ‘exit strategy’ at Intel" Grove, just the same.
