I don’t make this stuff up, I read it on TechCrunch. Just today. Of the top six restaurants since the recession began in earnest, depending on whose lie you believe it was probably last October, four are pizza joints!  I’m on record saying that high-end luxury brands are generally unfazed by tough economic times since most consumers in the category are generally insulated.  But more pizza?  Come on!  Numbers may mislead, but they don’t lie.  There’s always an opportunity to build your brand, no matter what the circumstances.  Just be sure your value proposition is in tune with your target.  Let ‘em eat pizza.   And today they’re eating more of it than ever.  Bad as it is.
