This weekend, according to our consistently reliable sources, Catalog Choice added the 400,000th member to its database of consumers who have asked to be removed from catalog mailing lists! A headline on the Catalog Choice home page says (and I love this): "Simplify your life and save natural resources”. Indeed! I couldn’t have said it better.
With blessings from the Ecology Center, National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council, the nonprofit Catalog Choice (www.catalogchoice.org) is yet another new service to help consumers just say no to junk, er, unwanted mail. Guys, there really are greener, tree-friendlier, resource-happier ways to give people reasons to buy your stuff. Harder-working websites are a good start. Put down your shotguns and start using something a little more precise. You know who you’re selling to, right? So enable and encourage them to engage with you the way they want to be engaged. Online, for example. Look at your product through their eyes. Don’t look at their mailboxes through the lens of what you're selling. Four-hundred thousand “no” votes is a mandate.

Yeah, but what about the Victoria's Secret catalogs??!!
My best friend Karl Hungus has a subscription sent directly to his office.
God forbid if V.S. ever stops sending out their catalog.
