Picking up where I left off yesterday about those flying objects that Comcast is trying to duck these days, Jeff Jarvis manages to cover just about everything the cable company needs to initiate to make some much needed friends. If you haven't caught it, check out his guest column in Biz Week, Dell Learns to Listen. Couple of years ago his rant on "Dell Computer service", at the time an oxymoron of legendary proportions, sounded an awful lot like Bob Garfield's smack-down of Comcast. If more companies and executives would simply join these discussions, not only would it ease the inflammation, it might well cure the ailments! Ironic that so many of the same marketers who prattle endlessly about the value of "talking to customers" don't exploit the simple web technologies that enable it on a global scale.
