Hey, even do-no-evil brainiacs experience occasional brain flatulence:  As Silicon Valley.com reports today: "How surreal was Google's home page logo Thursday? So much so that the company removed it midday -- at the request of Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miró's family."  See?  Even otherwise brilliant branding people tend to bend the rules of no-messing-with-the-styleguide.  There's a twist here, however.  You'd think it would be the corporadoes at GOOG who'd get ornery about adulterating the "look", but in this case in was the other way around.  Fact is, most of us would welcome being "Googled" in this very visible way.  Ah, those temperamental artists and their hoity-toity families...There's an opportunity here for a really bad pun about surrealists vs. "impressionists" here -- as in: think of all the impressions Miro just blew -- but I won't yield to the temptation.  And if you're hip to Motown, you get that last one.
